BRANFORD, Conn—The 102nd District Republican Nominating Convention has unanimously endorsed long-time Branford resident and former RTM Majority Leader, Ray Ingraham, as its candidate for state representative in the November elections.
Ingraham delivered a powerful and direct message to convention delegates, “It’s pretty simple: I want to serve the people of Branford.”
Ingraham, who has served eleven years on the RTM and ten as Majority Leader, has spent a lifetime volunteering in the community after spending seven years in the United States Air Force that included two tours with Operation Elf One in Saudi Arabia training Saudi Officers and monitoring action in the Iran/Iraq War. “I am ready for this,” Ingraham said.
Married for 43 years to his wife Mary Jane, Ingraham has already spent many years giving back to the community. He has volunteered with the Indian Neck Improvement Association, Branford Girls Softball, and the Branford Festival. “I know this community,” Ingraham said, “and as someone whose own family was homeless for a year, I know and feel the challenges working people face…because I have lived them.”
Branford First Selectman Jamie Cosgrove, who nominated Ingraham at the convention, was equally direct in his praise of Ingraham. “Ray is a good person who will work hard for the people of Branford. He has helped us make Branford a better place to work and live…and he will give our community a strong voice in Hartford.”
Ingraham will likely face three-term incumbent, Robin Comey, on Election Day.
