The CCDL Executive Board proudly selects State Rep ‘Tim Ackert’ as the 2018 CCDL Legislator of the Year.

Announcing the award, president Scott Wilson stated the following:
“CCDL would like to express our gratitude for the very difficult task in which Tim engaged anti-gun legislators in a sustained debate over HB5542 during the House chamber Session last year.”

“Tim has always been a strong supporter of the 2^nd Amendment. However, his floor debate over illogical and irrational gun control legislation was especially difficult when considering public sentiment at the time. It is truly an honor to recognize Tim for the ‘Legislator of the Year’ award for 2018.”

Tim serves the 8th house district (Columbia, Coventry, Vernon and part of Tolland).

TUESDAY MEETING CANCELED

The monthly members meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, February 12th has been canceled, due to the predicted snow and ice storm.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, March 12th.

CCDL is tracking a large number of gun bills both bad and good, working their way through the legislative process. Please pay close attention to your emails and to our social media accounts in the coming weeks and months. Usually we get very short notice when a bill is going to a public hearing. Often just a few days. We expect that at least some of these bills will be heard sometime in the next month or so. We’ll need as many people as possible to show up and testify on these bills in person, or at the very least submit emailed testimony. You can be sure those that want to take away your rights will be there in large numbers.
